Muzza High School paused to count its blessings and the list was long. A joyful thanksgiving service marked another year of remarkable UCE and UACE results, with students, staff, parents and clergy gathering in gratitude.
Saturday, 21 March 2026 9:00 am – 1:00 pm Main Hall, Muzza High School
“I will praise you, Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all your marvellous works.” Psalms 9:1
The word “Ebenezer” meaning thus far the Lord has helped us echoed across the school grounds on the morning of 21 March 2026. For Muzza High School, an Anglican Church-founded institution, giving thanks after outstanding national examination results is not simply a tradition. It is at the very heart of who the school is.
This year’s thanksgiving service was a celebration of faith, excellence, and community. A reminder that behind every grade achieved lies a story of prayer, dedication, and trust placed in God.
The preparations were evident from the moment guests arrived. The main hall had been transformed with bright decorations, and the atmosphere crackled with anticipation. At the centre of the day’s worship was the Senior Five class choir, whose melodious voices guided the congregation through sessions of praise, hymns, and worship.

“You are a very smart choir, and you sing so well. I have invited you to St. Luke C.O.U Seeta to lead service.” Canon Edward Kironde Balamze, Main Celebrant
Students arrived in crisp, smart uniforms. Teachers and parents were equally well turned out. Even the weather cooperated bright and warm, as if the skies themselves had dressed for the occasion.
The service opened with a procession led by the choir, the school chaplain, and student leaders a dignified and moving start to the morning. Canon Edward Kironde Balamze, Archdeacon of Seeta, delivered a powerful message drawing from the story of the ten lepers a call to never forget to return and give thanks.

The service included baptism and Holy Communion, where the community was reminded of the body of Christ as they partook of the bread and wine.
The school’s best-performing candidates were awarded scholarships and cheques in recognition of their outstanding results.
The service concluded, giving way to Visitation Day a time for families to reconnect, interact with students, and share a special meal together.

Old student Kavuma Liz Mitchell, an oxygen support beneficiary, took to the podium to share her story. Having excelled in her UCE, she attributed her success to God’s grace and the unwavering support of the Muzza High School community teachers, fellow students, and the school’s broader family. Her testimony moved many in attendance, and her story was itself one of the central reasons the school gathered to give thanks that day.

One of the significant moments of the service was the formal introduction of the school’s new headteacher, Mr. Owori Stephen, by the Chairperson of the Board of Governors, Mr. Mukwanya Julius Yekosofati. In his maiden address, Mr. Owori pledged to serve with diligence to nurture and groom students with tough love, pursue academic excellence, and work as a team to take Muzza High School to even greater heights. It was a promise warmly received by all present.

The school director, Ssalongo Wilson Mukiibi Muzzanganda, took the opportunity to express deep appreciation to parents for entrusting the school with their children, and to commend the teaching staff for the extraordinary work they continue to do. He called on every member of the school community to pull together in building a brighter future for Muzza.
